Mirror & Limestone
This piece combines two contrasting materials: mirror glass and limestone. The mirror is made from high-quality reflective glass that provides clear, accurate imaging and a smooth, polished surface, offering a refined and modern aesthetic. It pairs with limestone, a natural sedimentary stone known for its soft texture, matte finish, and subtle mineral variations. Each limestone element carries unique tonal shifts and organic markings, giving the piece a grounded, sculptural presence through the stone’s natural weight and character. Together, these materials create a balanced expression that blends the precision of glass with the tactile, elemental qualities of stone.
Limestone
Our limestone is defined by a soft, sand-beige tone with gentle warmth drawn from its geological origins. Subtle variations in beige shades create an organic depth, evoking the timeless character of stone shaped over millennia. Calm and versatile, this sand-beige colour conveys quiet elegance and serves as a refined foundation for both modern and traditional settings.
Handle the mirror with both hands, supporting the frame and limestone base. The stone is naturally very heavy, so always lift with care and avoid putting strain on any single point of the piece. Keep the mirror in dry indoor environments to protect both the stone and reflective surface.
Clean the mirror using a microfiber cloth and a non-ammonia glass cleaner, applying cleaner to the cloth rather than directly onto the glass to prevent runoff onto the stone. Dust the limestone regularly with a soft brush, and clean using a lightly dampened cloth with distilled water or a pH-neutral stone cleaner. Avoid acidic products, bleach, ammonia, and abrasives, and always dry the stone immediately after cleaning.
Prevent stains by keeping liquids, cosmetics, and oils away from the limestone. Minor stains may be treated with a small amount of baking-soda poultice if needed. For long-term protection, a penetrating stone sealer may be applied every one to two years.
When moving the mirror, wrap the limestone carefully and lift with sufficient support to avoid damage from the stone’s weight. Regular light dusting and occasional gentle cleaning will maintain the natural beauty and longevity of the piece.
